The Holiday Store

Each year the Kansas City community gives so much of themselves to make sure the families of Rose Brooks have a very special holiday. The Holiday Store collects new, unwrapped gifts which are given directly to the families receiving services. The store helps create a special holiday season, even during crisis, and empowers families to celebrate their lives together with a bright, safe future.

We have found our Holiday Store program to be very empowering for our families since this may the very first time they have been able to provide gift items for their loved ones. The parents shop (from the collected donations) for the kids and then (we hide the toys!) the kids shop for their parents. We, as staff shop for the adults too! These donations from the community help us provide a safe, happy holiday season for our families and children.

Volunteers also help make this a very special time by working at the Holiday Store and collecting gifts. To learn more about this unique opportunity, please sign up HERE or contact Joan Dougherty at Note: Volunteers please dress casually and warmly since you may be assisting donors bring in donations from their vehicles.
