Rose Brooks Center Named Healthiest in Kansas City

Rose Brooks Center named one of Kansas City’s Healthiest Employers

Kansas City, Mo, March 28, 2024 – On March 28th, Rose Brooks Center had the honor of receiving the distinction of one of Kansas City’s Healthiest Employers. With the support of Healthiest Employers®, a trusted awards program that recognizes organizations taking a more proactive approach to employee health, Rose Brooks also thanks Kansas City Business Journal for this recognition.

The Kansas City Business Journal hosted a breakfast event at Carriage Club in partnership with 2024 presenting sponsor, Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Kansas City. During the event, they gave recognition to all honoree companies and heard from some of them during a panel discussion.

Healthiest Employers showcases the Kansas City-area businesses that make health and wellness a priority at their companies. The assessment scores organizations on their wellness program’s culture and leadership commitment, foundational components, strategic planning, communication and marketing, programming and interventions, and reporting and analysis.

The Wellness Program has been part of Rose Brooks Center’s strategy for decades. Today, the program is more thoroughly named the Wellness and Resiliency Program — recognizing that the staff’s wellbeing is essential to addressing the safety and wellness for a large and diverse group of individuals in and around Kansas City.

Rose Brooks’ wellness program is always evolving based on what staff members indicate will be most effective. The program encompasses mental health resources and care, physical wellbeing, social wellness and networks, financial resources, and more. Lisa Fleming, Rose Brooks Center’s CEO, explains her love for the program, “I love that on any given week our staff have the option to get outside to walk the backyard trail or take a breather in the meditation garden. Staff can seek in-person or virtual counseling from our EAP, workout in our on-site gym, benefit from on-site vaccinations, try out yoga for the first time, or my personal favorite – take a break with our therapy dog, Cooper.”
